Principle of Instruction: The principle of instruction for this lesson is to continue the students understanding and work with addition and regrouping with three digit numbers. This will be done by using different technologies to help broaden their understanding and usage of regrouping.
Problem-Centered: The students will be shown different online applications that they can use in order to help them become experts on addition with regrouping using three digit numbers. They will eventually be able to use the skills they will learn in this lesson to count money in real life situations in their future.
Activation: The Voki video will be played in order to activate the student's prior knowledge. The Voki will share with the students that they have previously taken part in regrouping lessons using one or two digit numbers
Demonstration: The lesson will be demonstrated through a youtube video on regrouping skills in addition! The lesson can be further demonstrated on the first example on the padlet. The teacher can do the demonstration of the regrouping addition problem but allow for students to volunteer. The teacher should guide the students if they need any help!
Application: The students will apply their knowledge and test their understanding of the skills by completing the crossword puzzle! In order to complete this puzzle they must be able to answer questions specific to the case scenarios in the regrouping strategy
